My Reflection

Image
I believe my commercial was a success. I showed the viewers my true passion and some of the important things about myself. This is all thanks to Capcut. By using Capcut I learned multiple editing techniques. Using Capcut developed my skills and will help me in future projects. By using Capcut I learned how to edit pictures and videos. I learned how to add effects to my pictures and videos. I learned how to add transitions in between media. In the long run, this will all improve my work. I learned that putting together a quality project is no easy task. The details have to be on point. The viewers are not looking for a dry commercial. This is something that I learned by showing the commercial to my brother. This has to be something people will enjoy watching. This will help all my future works and projects. For my next project I plan to put more time and effort in producing it. Although I was satisfied with the work that I produced on my commercial, there is never truly a perfect commer

Finalizing my Commercial

Image
My commercial is finally coming to an end. I went through endless review and editing to make sure I end up with a quality commercial. After my brother's review, I went back to improve what he thought made it weak. According to my brother, the commercial had no story to tell. I went back to change some of my images. This way all of my images would correlate to one another. I had all my pictures and videos together and now it is time for my final edits. I began by putting the pictures and videos through iMovies to put them in the desired order. I also added the song in the background on iMovies. After I put the basics of the commercial together, I  went to capcut for more advanced filters. On capcut I expanded the commercial by adding colors to my commercial. After I finished my commercial, I got one final review. I went to my best friend Joe with all the same passions as me. Although he likes the same things as me he does not hold back when critiquing. I showed him the commerc

Reviewing My Commercial

Image
As I progress with my commercial, I start to gain more confidence in how well it will do. The song choice is pleasing. There are numerous shots for the viewers to look at. The videos are entertaining. Although I have confidence in my commercial's success, I only have one set of eyes. To be sure my commercial is coming along the right way. I have to ask other people what they think. I asked my close circle and started with my older brother Mike. I asked my brother what he thinks about the song. He responded with "everybody messes with this". This gave me confidence in my song choice because he is very passionate about music. I asked him about my pictures, and he said, "there's a lot of different angles, but you need it to tell a story." When I asked him to elaborate, he said, "you need these to correlate and give the viewers something to remember". I thought about what he said and asked myself, what will the viewers remember about my commercial.

What is my Media?

Image
As I continue to work, I continue to experiment with endless possibilities on my commercial. I ask myself simple questions that'll help improve the quality of the commercial. Which transitions work best? What does the audience think about the song choice? Who is my intended audience? Asking myself these questions will improve the overall quality and views of the commercial. I ended up choosing a transition that I found appealing and will be nice to look at. My song choice is a popular song from the 2000s that is still being streamed to this day. Coldplay is a British rock band with popular songs such as Yellow, Paradise, A Sky Full of Stars and many more. Viva La Vida is the song I chose because I feel it is one of those timeless songs with no expiration. I feel this song will add a vibe that the audience will be connected to the commercial. I feel that connection with the song. To make my videos more entertaining I focused on the sound of the videos and the dialogue. I watched

How will I put it together

Image
To create my commercial, I recorded on my and took images on my iPhone 11 camera. I put together the commercial on iMovie. iMovie is an editing studio that is easily accessible on any Apple device. On iMovie I can add text, transitions and a voiceover. For editing I will use capcut. Capcut is an editing application that can be downloaded on the Apple app store. Using capcut will allow me to add any desired filters or transitions.  In this commercial I will include several shots, angles, and movements.  To review my commercial, I will give a small preview to a few individuals with a credible opinion. I will also review my commercial by viewing other commercials on TV. I will view some of the most popular commercials in history and see what qualities they have. Do they have the element of surprise? Do they connect with the viewers emotionally? Are they advertising an item? All commercials have a goal and that is either to advertise or to entertain. These are all things that I have to

Research and Planning Blog

I will be beginning my commercial, and on this blog, I will be describing the process of picking out videos, pictures, and a song for my commercial. For picking out pictures, videos, and a song for my commercial, I will pick pictures that match the vocabulary provided in the class. I will pick videos with different sound backgrounds. I will pick a song that I enjoy listening to. For pictures, I will use different angles such as the eye level and high angle. I will also include different shots such as an extreme close-up. For my videos I will include movement such as the pan and tilt. I will be using pictures and videos from different settings such as my home, school, and restaurants that I've visited. I will choose from pictures and videos that are from different time frames. My song choice is based on my previous experiences. Due to me being born in the 2000s I would choose something from the late 2000s or 2010s. My favorite genres of music are rap and pop. For my pictures, I

I am Dony Thervil. I am a 17-year-old senior in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I was born to two lovely parents Max and Felicite on January 2nd, 2006, in Haiti. I was born with four older siblings Marcus, Ludens, Mike and Sarah. They helped me develop and find some of my earliest passions  such as music, and comedy. In December of 2007 my family and I moved the United States where we found a home in Florida. Growing up in south Florida exposed me to a ton of different cultures and different experiences that shape who I am today. I currently attend Fort Lauderdale High where I am working hard and diligently to obtain my AICE Cambridge Diploma and my Bright Futures scholarship. My passion for music led me to make a decision here that I'll never forget. Joining my school's band. Joining my schools band led me to develop my musicianship, meet new musicians, and meet musicians who have plenty knowledge to teach. My favorite musician is the trumpet player Wynton Marsalis, some of his
