Production Blog: Coming to an End

Image
Today was a productive day for filming. I got the chance finish the rest of my filming in one day. Today was the day where I finish my music video. After school today I had practice for my homecoming game. I had practice from 4 to 6. From 6 to the rest of my day I was able to film the rest of my music video. That is exactly what I did. I started my filming by shooting my scenes at school. All of my extra characters were at school with me, so it was easy for me to get started. My cameraman was also at school, and he was ready to film. I started filming with the short and easy scenes. The first scene I filmed was the scene of me dancing in my school's band room. This one only took one take because, I did not have high expectations in my dancing, and I was satisfied with the results. My next scene was me sitting on the trunk of a car where I am singing along to my song. This scene took a few tries because I kept on getting distracted by cars pulling in and out of the parking lot. Production Blog: A Day of Surprises

If you thought my days before were long, today was the worst yet. Today was a wild day. When my day began, the first thing I did was get ready for work. I had work from 10:30 AM to 4 PM. My shift was nothing too long. It left plenty of time for me to film after work. I got home from work at around 4:30 PM. Immediately after I get home, I begin my homework. After working on a few assignments, I worked on my college application. I do not want to go too far from home, so I apply to schools within my state. Finally, after completing my work, I began to film. I started filming in order of appearance. I started with my first scene which is a scene of me in my bedroom showing my face. This scene was not difficult to film. It took a few tries, and I ended up choosing the one where I thought I looked the best. Next, I filmed my waving scene which is a simple wave to the camera. The next scene I was going to film was my car scene. As I was heading to film the next scene, my mother stopped me an

Production Blog: Big Performance Day

Image
Today was a whole lot of productivity. The wrong type of productivity though. I woke up early in the morning and ate a nice breakfast. I had a big day ahead of me. Filming was not in my mind. Today was my band’s MPA. I was going through a lot of stress from the moment I woke up. Once I got to school, I never got the opportunity to film. First thing when I got there was head to the track and run laps. After running laps we did continuous run throughs until we left. There was no time to record anything. After we left school we went to Westin, Florida where our performance was held. We stayed there for a few hours and received a superior rated performance. The performance was exhausting but it was worth it in the end. When I got back to school it was around 10:00 PM. Far too late to record anything. My crew was not ready to record with me. I headed straight home afterwards. Once I got home I had no energy left in me. It was time to call the day a failure and hope for the best tomorrow. T

Production Blog: A Day to Waste

Image
Today after school, I planned to begin my filming. Although everything was in place to get multiple scenes in today, I lost focus and let the day go to waste. There are a few scenes in my music video that take place in some rooms and outside. Scenes two, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, eleven and twelve are all filmed at my school. If all went as planned, then a big portion of my music video will be filmed today. My cameraman was ready to film. My extras were ready to be in the video. Everything was ready to go but I found myself in a bad situation. After practice I found myself too tired to even film. All I wanted to do was lay on my bed and relax. Once I got home, instead of creating my scenes at home, I was left with tons of homework. Tomorrow I will not get the chance to film. I am busy with school and have a game right after. On Saturday I get the chance to film a few scenes before my performance. If I forget to film before my performance, I can film after work on Sunday. Th

Production Blog: Creating My Video

Image
To begin creating my music video I began by planning out my settings and filming. I decided to film my scenes at my home, and my school. I am filming the movie on my iPhone 11. My editing will be done on Capcut. I previously used capcut, so the navigation will feel easier for me. I work by myself and have a camera man to help record a few scenes. I plan to retake a few scenes if they do not meet my standards. I am filming my music video to the song Bye Bye Bye by NSYNC*. My video is meant to be a goodbye video. There is no specific bye to anybody, but I feel like it fits the song. I am the main subject in my music video. I have the use of multiple props. I am filming myself doing multiple actions. The point of this video is to match my actions to the song. I did not get the opportunity to film this week. Due to this my filming is delayed because. I have been stuck with practice and work. I plan to get back on track as soon as possible. I plan to sneak a few scenes in this week when I

Group Blog

For my music video project, I decided to work by myself. I chose to work by myself because I can always rely on myself to get things done. Working in a group can give me unnecessary stress. There are a handful of negatives to working in a group. I have to count on my groupmates to get their fair share of the work done. When my groupmates do not get it done, I have to take matters into my own hands. Another reason I chose to work alone is because I wanted to ensure that the quality of the work being done was good. People tend to put half effort into work or not put their best foot forward. Others just are not capable of creating good work. Then there are those who do not submit any work at all. This prevents any bad work from being put in the music video. The songs that I choose for my music video was Bye Bye Bye by *NSYNC, I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys, and I Could Fall in Love by Selena. I chose these songs because I am a big Justin Timberlake fan. I also chose these songs be

I am Dony Thervil. I am a 17-year-old senior in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I was born to two lovely parents Max and Felicite on January 2nd, 2006, in Haiti. I was born with four older siblings Marcus, Ludens, Mike and Sarah. They helped me develop and find some of my earliest passions  such as music, and comedy. In December of 2007 my family and I moved the United States where we found a home in Florida. Growing up in south Florida exposed me to a ton of different cultures and different experiences that shape who I am today. I currently attend Fort Lauderdale High where I am working hard and diligently to obtain my AICE Cambridge Diploma and my Bright Futures scholarship. In doing so I ended up taking the AICE Media Studies AS course which led me to this blog. My passion for music led me to make a decision here that I'll never forget. Joining my school's band. Joining my schools band led me to develop my musicianship, meet new musicians, and meet musicians who have plenty knowl
