Intro Blog

I am Dony Thervil. I am a 17-year-old senior in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I was born to two lovely parents Max and Felicite on January 2nd, 2006, in Haiti. I was born with four older siblings Marcus, Ludens, Mike and Sarah. They helped me develop and find some of my earliest passions such as music, and comedy. In December of 2007 my family and I moved the United States where we found a home in Florida. Growing up in south Florida exposed me to a ton of different cultures and different experiences that shape who I am today. I currently attend Fort Lauderdale High where I am working hard and diligently to obtain my AICE Cambridge Diploma and my Bright Futures scholarship. In doing so I ended up taking the AICE Media Studies AS course which led me to this blog. My passion for music led me to make a decision here that I'll never forget. Joining my school's band. Joining my schools band led me to develop my musicianship, meet new musicians, and meet musicians who have plenty knowledge to teach. My favorite musician is the trumpet player Wynton Marsalis, some of his known work is the famous introduction to CBS Sunday Morning "Abblasen". He inspires me to work hard toward my goal of becoming a better musician. If you haven't guessed it already, I play trumpet. After I graduate this year, I plan on attending Florida A&M University and getting a degree in business administration. I also plan to be a part of their "Incomparable Marching 100" directed by Dr. Shelby Chipman. Dr. Chipman is one of the experienced musicians that I have met through playing trumpet. I attended his South Florida Camp in Miami. He also plays trumpet and attended FAMU. On this blog I will share my experiences and work towards my AICE diploma by completing my media studies work.
